Loving The Lost Youth Of Our City

[singlepic id=36 w=320 h=240 float=center]

Standing on the freeway exit a girl, cold and dirty, holds a sign that reads: “Hungry, Please Help.”

Her hollow eyes and expressionless face speak louder than her sign. She hasn’t had a real meal in days.

Worse, she’s only noticed by those who think they could get something from her. She suffers ridicule and insults, hoping that she might yet be able to eat today.

She is invisible, miserable, empty, and alone. Each day she believes more wholeheartedly that she is worthless and disgusting. She is one of Portland’s lost youth.

Do you see her?
